Sean Redmond

BPsychSc | MSocW | AASW Registered Social Worker

I’m a social worker and therapist working with parents, young people, and adults who live with disability, psychosocial challenges, or complex support needs. My approach is practical, direct, and grounded in more than a decade of hands‑on experience inside the NDIS and disability sectors.

I don’t provide child‑direct play‑based therapy.
Instead, I work with the people who make the biggest difference in a child or adult’s daily life — parents, carers, young people, and adults themselves — helping them understand behaviour, improve emotional regulation, and navigate complex systems with confidence.

My Background

My NDIS journey began in 2014, leading the NDIS Participant Readiness Project as part of a Queensland Government initiative.
My team supported people with disability and their carers across Southeast Queensland as they transitioned from state‑funded disability services to the NDIS.

This work included:

  • community forums
  • one‑on‑one home visits
  • online resources
  • helping families understand the NDIS access, planning, and support systems

After the rollout phase, I provided advocacy support for adults navigating NDIS access and plan implementation, before joining a large Autism Early Intervention Service, where I supported families, collaborated with multidisciplinary teams, and worked across complex developmental and behavioural needs.

After eight years across these organisational roles, it was time to work independently.
I co‑launched TIYD, which allowed me to bring together my clinical training, my disability‑sector understanding, and my commitment to clear, actionable support.

what i'm good at

My strengths sit at the intersection of therapy, behaviour understanding, and NDIS literacy.

  • I translate the NDIS Act, rules and guidelines into plain language you can actually use.
  • I understand behaviour in context — family, environment, trauma, neurodiversity, and daily life demands.
  • I help parents, youth, and adults move from confusion to clarity and from overwhelm to practical next steps.
  • I don’t give up easily. I follow through, and I do the work needed to get to the heart of the issue.

And yes — I still enjoy untangling the “NDIS gobbledygook” so you don’t have to.

a bit about me

I like running and fitness training. Physical exercise is my way of staying grounded and sticking to routines— it helps me think clearly and process complex situations.
It takes commitment, and perseverance — especially when things get tough.

It’s the same mindset I bring to my work:  dedicated, persistent, structured, and focused.
