My NDIS journey started in 2014 heading up the NDIS Participant Readiness Project under a Queensland Government funded intiative. My team supported people with disabilities and their carers accross South East Queensland transition from stated funded disability services to the NDIS. We facilitated group based community forums, online resources and 1:1 home based sessions to ensure that our community had access to easy to understand information to prepare them for the NDIS rollout.
After the Participant Rediness Project came to an end I provided advocacy support for many adults going through the NDIS access and planning process before joining a large Autism Early Intervention Service untill mid 2022.
After 8 years of providing NDIS support within organisations the time was right to become independent and co-launched TIYD with Katrina Ives.
My strengths are my understanding of the NDIS Act, rules and guidelines, I desiminate the gobbledygook so you dont have to and relay this information so it's easy to grasp and my "do whatever it takes" attitude - I dont give up easily!
A bit about me
I run...a lot, i find it meditative and helps me process and see things more clearly - this year i'm training for my first 100km Ultra trail run, people say ultra runners are crazy, but for me its dedication and peserverence especially through those difficult times. That's the attitude I bring to my role everyday.

Before co-launching TIYD Pty Ltd, I worked for a large early intervention specialist service for children with Autism, for over 10 years. Back in the early days when the NDIS was just starting, I put up my hand to be the organisation’s NDIS expert. So, I have been in this space from the beginning.
I have extensive experience in helping families and children navigate through the NDIS and achieve better outcomes. That’s my focus and it is truly satisfying. Over the years I have also built positive and trusted relationships with organisations that have a direct functional role in the operation of the NDIS.
Understanding how these organisations operate is important in practice. It makes advocacy and negotiations more effective. My knowledge in this area provides you with the tools needed to have the greatest impact in the NDIS decision making process. This empowers families I work with to be more effective self-advocates.
I find it a privilege to be able to help families from the start of their NDIS journey and onwards.
A little bit about me
I enjoy the peace of the country, the history of antiques and country drives. There is something about the wide-open landscape of the countryside that is calming. I have a large, blended family and have this year, welcomed our first Grandchild. I like helping folk and particularly like finding solutions to difficult problems and believe that there is almost always a way to get closer to where you need to be.
